This requires that in the event of a foreseeable risk from ejected parts or impacts from ma-chine parts or the operator, the guards must be designed and constructed to withstand and resist these ejections and impacts. Normative specifications: The test specimen must be at least 1000 mm wide be-tween posts. The posts must be fixed to a solid base. The pendulum is set so that the impact takes place on the test object at about 2/3 of the total height of the guard above the floor or the associated level, but not higher than 1600 mm. Resistance of the guards to impact from within the hazardous area - Hard impactor. The hard impactor should be a cylindrical or spherical object that makes predictable con-tact with the guard. It should be made of a rigid material, such as steel, and have a mass representative of the foreseeable impact. The impact area should be concentrated at one point. Strength of guards against impacts from outside the danger zone- Soft impactor Basic values for the strength of the guards against impacts from outside the protected dan-ger zone should represent a human body with a total weight of 90 kg, which unconsciously impacts against the guard from outside the protected zone. The velocity of such a person should be set at a minimum of 1.6 m/s. See energy equations in C.2.3, resulting in an im-pact energy of at least E = 115 J. Note: Since the structure of the guard (machine guard door) is symmetrical in the closing edge plane, it is not necessary to differentiate between the outside and inside. The pendu-lum tests for the hard as well as the soft impactor were therefore only performed on the outside of the machine guard. H = Height of the guard h = height of fall a = height of the impact point, which must not exceed 1600 mm.

For the pendulum test with a soft impactor, the test specimen was subjected to an impact energy of up to 4.5 times the value required by the standard without any subse-quent impairment of the test specimen being detected. As far as in this report statements on conformity are made, decision rules according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018, 7.8.6 have been applied. If the report does not state oth-erwise, procedure 2 according to IEC Guide 115 ed.1.0 2007 (accuracy method) has been applied on measurement and test procedures which are the base of this report.
